Camp Robin Hood wasn’t at all what I expected. For one thing, no one had happened to mention the heat. In the glossy brochure photos, the campers looked uniformly cool and collected, immaculate in white shirts and shorts on the lodge’s front porch, or posed on the high-dive in sleek tank suits. Summer camp, though I’d had no previous experience with one, seemed to conjure up visions of hammocks, lakes, camp songs, iced lemonade.
